About Us Fallen Heroes_portrait_poster1

The Captain Garrett T. Lawton Foundation is a non-profit charitable organization [501(c)(3)]** devoted to providing service and assistance to the families of U.S. servicemen and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of their country.

What drives us
Every American owes a debt that can never be fully repaid: We owe our freedom, liberty, and American way of life to the countless number of military heroes who have selflessly laid down their lives in the service of their country. Tragically, with each sacrifice, a U.S. service member leaves behind loved ones who must carry on without them--spouses, children, siblings, parents who must shoulder the burden of an unbearable loss and find the means with which to persevere. We offer our assistance to help those family members through these tragic times and aid them in resurrecting and restoring their hopes and ambitions.

The Foundation
Captain Garrett Lawton, United States Marine Corps, was killed in action in Afghanistan on August 4, 2008. Like so many other fallen heroes, he left behind a wife, two young sons, a sister, and parents whose lives have been irreparably altered by his tragic loss. The Capt Garrett T. Lawton Foundation is named in his honor, not only to sustain the association of his name with honorable and heroic service to his country, but also to apply a tangible representation to the cause of caring for families and friends who must carry on after such a devastating event.

Acknowledgments
The Foundation would like to acknowledge the tireless creative genius of Mr. Michael G. Reagan, the artist who created the portrait at the right and who generously donates pencil portraits of fallen heroes free of charge to their families and loved ones. We are honored to have his permission to use his artwork on our website.
